Would you like to volunteer at our annual Brewfest?

All of our Beertender spots are full but here are some of the jobs we still need your help with!

  • ICE HANDLER – Delivers ice to beer stations as need during the event
  • ‘OPALA PATROL – Helps keep the grounds free of trash during the event, replaces trash bags in trash containers as needed.
  • EARLY BIRDS –9am to noon set up, stay to be runners
  • GENERAL HELP – Helps out wherever needed

We love your help every year in pampering our Brewfest attendees to an amazing day. Our great service helps The Rotary Club of Hilo give back to our community and internationally every year. Mahalo and remember you must be 21 to volunteer!

We will be checking ID’s for a legal, fun and successful event.

THURSDAY JUNE 22nd – 5:30pm -7:00pm (Mandatory Training Meeting) Location: Dodo Mortuary – YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR VOLUNTEER SHIRT AT THIS TRAINING, YOU WILL NEED THIS SHIRT TO BOARD THE BUS AND ENTER THE EVENT


SATURDAY JUNE 24th – 11:30am – 8:30pm  Hilo Brewfest Event and After Party – PLEASE WEAR YOUR VOLUNTEER SHIRT TO THE BUS, YOU WILL NOT BE LET ON THE BUS OR INTO THE EVENT WITHOUT YOUR VOLUNTEER SHIRT ON!

MANDATORY TRAINING MEETING: THURSDAY JUNE 22nd.  5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
If you do not show-up to this meeting, you WILL NOT be able to serve at the Hilo Brewfest Event on Saturday. Important details are being discussed.

  1. Bring your driver license for verification
  2. T-shirts will be distributed
  3. Your Subway sandwich/salad orders will be taken
  4. You will be instructed on a proper beer pour
  5. Event Rules will be reviewed along with the site map
  6. Clean-up and After-Party protocol will be discussed

WHAT TO DO ON BREWFEST DAY:

Wear your Hilo Brewfest T-shirt that will be passed out at the Mandatory Training Meeting. Sandwiches will be provided by the Rotary Club of Hilo from Subway. We will also provide snacks & water from 11a-5p. Pizza & Beer will be served at the Mahalo Party after clean-up.

WHERE TO PARK:

The County Building parking lot off of Aupuni St (park by the yellow school buses) & wait for a shuttle to get you! Be there by 11:45 am. Your Volunteer Bus leaves at 12:00 pm sharp. No private vehicles allowed at the Wainaku Executive Center.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

BRING YOUR ID. You will be carded and will not be allowed in the event without it. NO ONE UNDER 21 is allowed to volunteer, Sorry. That’s the law! Wear your Hilo Brewfest T-shirt and comfortable shoes.  Have sunscreen and sunglasses handy.

WHERE TO CHECK-IN:

After the shuttle drops you off at the Wainaku Center gates, walk straight down the hill driveway to the open carport. You will be checked in and given your Subway order. Have license out for verification.

WHEN DO YOU GET TRAINED:

At Mandatory Training Meeting on June 22nd!

WHEN DOES THE MAHALO AFTER PARTY START:

Right after we break down and clean-up our tents. Clean-up will be from 5:15 till 6pm. Enjoy the music, beer, friends and pizza till 9:00 pm! That is our thank you for volunteering for us. Then a shuttle will bring you back to your vehicle at the County Building on Aupuni Street!
